Feeling Connected

One thing the pandemic did for me was made me further disconnect from life, and others, and made the isolation difficult. I am single so I didn’t have anyone to hunker down with except for my beloved pets during that time.

I am definitely a people person, but I slowly became okay with being quiet, being at home, and pulling away from everyone.

I didn’t get depressed nor had thoughts of suicide, I simply became custom to the isolation.

Fast forward to now, I’m back to being fully connected. I feel so much happier now. I have a fabulous job with incredible co-workers. I feel blessed to go to work every day where we all are working together for the same goal. Everyone helps everyone and there isn’t anyone who feels they are superior and it’s beneath them to help on that level. This feels more like a family. I wouldn’t know how blessed I am had it not been for the isolation and knowing what it’s like to feel like I was alone on an island.

I count my blessings. I feel connected again to life, happiness, and others.

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful spring day! I feel the warmth of the sun coming through the sliding door, making me excited for the new season ahead.

tulips-bed-colorful-color-69776.jpegDo you look forward to the change of seasons? I know I do. For some reason, I feel its a new beginning for Mother Earth, the animals and all the new change about to happen. I feel that change is vital to growth and rebirth. I am constantly finding opportunities or things that give me growth in all areas of my life. I never want to remain stagnate – I feel that would be death for me.

Enjoy the new season upon us! See the growth and beauty in change. May you grow this season, in a big or small way, but grow!

Looking in the Mirror

Looking in the mirror, a hard look, I need to get a handle on my health. I need to lose this extra weight or my health will be in jeopardy. I’m not fit now. I have been in the past. I believe I was fit in my thirties, but in my forties, I didn’t care for some reason.

Sure I could blame going through a divorce, or pull out other reasons, however; those excuses don’t change the truth! Excuses don’t mean jack. My body is carrying this extra weight, so I’m talking from experience. At my age, it will not be easy, but it is doable! It’s never to late to do anything.

This is the year that I care about me. Take care of myself each day. I believe that small things done consistently, over time will matter. If I’m eating healthier every day, making healthy food choice, then overtime I will see a difference in my body and how it feels. Right?

I’m cutting out fast food. That means that I need to plan out meals before hand. I started using the crock pot more now. Throw in the meat and a few things, and in 6 hours I have a home cooked meal, which we know is much better for me. Fast food is convenient, but it comes with an unhealthy price tag. I stopped drinking soda over a year ago!

My goal is to lose 50 lbs. this year. I will write how I feel and what’s working for me. I hope you can come along with my journey. I need support. Maybe you do too. If so, good.

“Small things done consistently over time will make a difference. BE consistent.”

Health is Number 1

I know we have started a new year, and I’ve thought long and hard to determine what’s my first priority. MY HEALTH

I believe everything in our lives starts with our health. We can do anything we want if we are healthy, right? If we have all our senses, a strong healthy body, and clarity, I think we are unstoppable.

On the other hand, what if we aren’t healthy? It makes us feel bad, our minds are cloudy, we are unproductive, and our body isn’t preforming at a peak level and neither are we. It’s a trickle effect! Health affects every aspect of our lives. Health is our first priority.

Are you healthy? IF so, that is AWESOME. I commend you and look for you to be a role model for others. We must speak up more and talk about what’s working and what isn’t.

As a nation, American’s are more unhealthy, over-weight, and diabetic. This has got to change. If you are in this category, as I am, choose to make changes everyday to get better. You have choices everyday. You are in control of what you put in your mouth. Make better choices. Get up and move your body! Start with 10 minutes and work up.

I think if we make better choices every day , AND are consistent, yes consistent, over time it will make a difference. Be mindful everyday of your body and health.

Make your health a priority. I know I am.
